Vonage Hey folks, I have dropped my landline in favor of a Vonage line and use simulring



Hey folks, I have dropped my landline in favor of a Vonage line and use simulring to a cell phone to ensure I don't miss any calls while away. However, when I use this same cell phone to call the Vonage line, the cell phone gets a busy signal after one ring and the Vonage line continuously rings until voicemail picks-up, which then records a blank message until the maximum alotted time is filled up with dead air. It's as though the call gets stuck in a loop at the cell end while the Vonage line is left open outside this loop. This odd behavior started about a month ago and prior to this, I had no problems calling my Vonage line from this same cell phone. Thinking it might be the cell phone itself, I tried it with a friend's cell phone on a different carrier and have the same issue. I also tried disabling simulring and instead configured my Vonage account to first ring for X seconds before forwarding to the cell, then X+Y seconds to voicemail if neither device picked-up. However, the same looped call occurs at the cell end when the call gets forwarded to this same cell. Surely people have both a cell phone and a Vonage line, use the latter's simulring to have the cell ring at the same time, but still wish to make calls from this same cell to the Vonage line! Ideas? I called Vonage to get this resolved and they have merely opened a ticket. I'm not hopeful that this is something that will and should be promptly fixed, especially since what I want to do worked in the past. Dave
