I have a WRT54GP wireless router that is connected directly to my cable modem.
I have my Tivo's (1 hard wired and the other on wireless G) connected to the router and obvously my PC.
Here is my issue.
My internet works fine when I boot up my comptuer. If my computer sits idle or if I'm not actively using my browser I lose my connection to the internet.
I can connect to the router via 192.168.15.1
Tivos can both connect as can the Xbox 360
The internet is still connected to the PC because I can even be playing an online game on my computer (World of Warcraft for example) where my system will be connected to their server sending and receiveing information but I can't connect with my web browser. The browser just times out.
Now I've tried:
1. Renewing the connection in the Status page of the router, Does not work
2. Tried reparing my connection under network connections, Does not work
3. Tried renewing DHCP on both the router and the computer, by stopping the service and restarting it. Doesn't work.
The only thing I've found that works is resetting the computer and it works fine.
Whats odd is that I can still be connected to an online game but I'm unable to use my browser if it sits idle for a few hours (after a long game session).
Any suggestions on how to fix this? I'm guessing its a router issue because if it was ethernet I'd go link dead from being dropped off the game server.

I forgot to add that my Vonage works perfectly through all this and that my connection is excellent.

• I would suggest that the problem is probably not network related but rather browser
• Try this link from DSL Reports. From looking at this, I'd try the Winsock Fix program.
• There are known DNS issues with the WRT54GP that would cause this.
