5360 [120-5360-502]

Overview

Upgrade distributed 07/03/2002.

This firmware upgrade is only for the 120-5360-502 modem version. Using it on any other model will corrupt the modem.

Notes:

There are no firmware upgrades for other 5360 part numbers at this time. If your ISP told you to upgrade your 5360's firmware, that firmware is provided by them, not us, because it is specifically designed for their network. Contact your ISP for instructions on using their particular 5360 firmware upgrade.
Part Number and Model Number are not the same thing. If your Part Number is 060-5360-023 you have a Model Number 120-5360-502 modem. See Related Articles at right for instructions on how to identify your product's part and model numbers.

If you use a Macintosh you will need to download and install this upgrade through a Windows PC, then reconnect the 5360 to your Macintosh.

Solution

To update your Efficient Networks 120-5360-502 modem, download the Update Guide and Setup.exe file to your hard drive and then follow the instructions as outlined in the Update Guide.

Please do not attempt to upgrade any other 5360 modem version with this updated firmware as it is not compatible with anything except the 120-5360-502 modem.

To verify that you have this version, look at the bottom of the modem and check to see that you have Part Number 060-5360-023 listed there. If you see anything else besides that exact part number, even if it's just off by one digit (e.g. 060-5360-123), do not use this update; it will corrupt your modem. Currently there are no firmware updates for other part numbers distrubuted by Efficient Networks; however, your ISP may have a 5360 firmware update specific to their network. Contact your ISP for further information.
