Vonage Here hoping someone has experienced the same problem I'm having and knows what

Here hoping someone has experienced the same problem I'm having and knows what can be done.

I've had Vonage for about 7 months now and have been really happy with the service. However, in the past week and a half I have noticed that when surfing the 'net, it's become a bit sluggish. Meaning, when I type a url or click on a web link, it pauses for about 6-10 seconds before doing anything and the page takes another 6-10 seconds before it fully loads. I thought maybe it was some virus or spyware and ran my software programs to weed these out but it indicated everything was as it should be. I also cleared out my history and temp files and cookies as well. After this I unhooked the router and my cable modem and turned off the computer and started it all up in the order that Vonage says to do when starting up. Everything came back online but still the problem remained with the sluggish surfing. I unhooked the router and hooked up the cable modem directly to the computer to see if perhaps it was my ISP (Comcast) being slow. After I did this without the router, surfing the 'net was quick and instantneous with loading of website pages and responding right away thus it proved to be the router causing the sluggish performance.

I called the tech support number and of course got India and the man I talked to suggested the rebooting process which I had already done but did again for his satisfaction. He then told me to go into the setup page for the router and had me into the Applications and Gaming section and then click on the QoS section. Here he had me disable it. He said to reboot again and to give it at least 24 hours. That was about 5 days ago and I still am sluggish when surfing the 'net - way too slow for being cable internet and nothing like when the cable modem is connected directly to the computer. (Would be good except I would like to be able to receive calls on my Vonage line).

My operating system is XP and my router is a Linksys RTP 300.

Can anyone help me with this problem? I do have port forwarding but this has been this way since the beginning of having Vonage and as I said, it's always ran great up until the past week or so before the sluggishness started. Any ideas would certainly be appreciated before I call India again.

Thanks!
Andy

Could be that your ISP's DNS servers changed, or the one you were using was down.
