Vonage Hello everyone. I got a weird one for you all, but first I'll just start out

Hello everyone.

I got a weird one for you all, but first I'll just start out with my config.
I've got my Tests pasted below for your information as well.

I'm using Fedora Core 6 I686 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6-xen as a small network firewall supporting about five computers, including the Vonage Device.

I'm using the standard distro, and i'm using shorewall and WEBMIN to manipulate the firewall.

I really want to put the Voip device behind the firewall. It will work, but my phone calls are choppy, I have packet loss, and I cannot see the web interface if one plugs it from the WAN side.

Here's the Really Weird part:
The device works from inside the firewall, but my DHCP server does not register the device with an IP!

It's stock config, I've done nothing to the Vonage Device other than take it out of the shipping container and plug it up.

When the Vonage Device is between the firewall and the Cable Modem, It screams! (Speed tests below!)

I cannot see the Vonage Devices config page unless i use it as a pass thru device.

I know, your going to tell me that it's the Firewall causing issues.
I will agree. However, the firewall is currently acting ONLY as a nat router, I have no rules blocking ports, and the other systems behind it are rock steady.

I have the latest Packages on the firewall, I have DNS & DHCP running, and the other systems seem to be happy!

P2P (Azureus) has no issues, and I get just as good speeds and no packet loss thru the firewall according to Broadband reports!

What i would like to do, is setup the Vonage Device where:

A) I set the WAN To a pick up the DHCP from my Server.
B) I want to be able to see the router's config page from inside my
network, not using the passthru on the Vonage Device.
C) I want to setup the QOS thu the firewall, rather than the Vonage
Device.

Can some one please tell me what I'm doing wrong!

For a Hub I'm using a stock 3com SuperStack II 3000 Switch

I'm using a RCA Thompson Cable Modem via Comcast.

Oh, Let me add. Im thinking part of my problem has to do with the fact that the
From the sounds of it the adapter must be getting its IP from somewhere if it is working.
