Hello everybody, We've had Vonage for months, now. When we first got it, we set it up with the RT31P2 router. Now we want to set up a wireless network. So, we purchased, through Amazon.com, the WRT54GP2 router. I'm having some problems, however, that seem a bit strange to me. The installation CD requires that the software detec a cable Internet connection. I tried having it do so with the RT31P2 still hooked up, and it said that the router was "already connected," or something to that extent. I understood this to mean that I needed to connect my computer directly to our cable modem in order for the software installation wizard to continue. The problem is that, for some reason, the Internet doesn't work when I connect my PC directly to the modem. It used to before we had Vonage, but now it doesn't. I do believe that all of the network configuration settings are correct, too. Frustrated with that, I tried to bypass the installation wizard by doing it manually. I simply hooked up the new wireless router, and then tried to configure it with the Linksys web software. I used all of the same settings as the old router. Still no Internet, still no phones. The computer *is* communicating with the router. All LEDs say that everything should be working dandily. When I try to connect to the Internet using *anything* but the old RT31P2 router (even if I try going directly through the modem), the "cable" LED light goes dead on the modem and there is no Internet connection (and therefore no phones, either). I'm guessing that this probably has something to do with the Mac address. Or, maybe it has something to do with registration. I am 99.9% sure that my ISP (Adelphia) does not require customers to register Mac addresses with them. As for Vonage, I don't know - I wasn't here when the RT31P2 and phone service were originally set up. Thanks for any help!
