Are you using the same patch cord to plug the cordless phone into the regular line as you are using for Vonage (have you tried a different patch cable)?
(dumb question, but I gotta ask): By "A port in the router", you're sure it is plugged into PHONE 1, right? (sorry, you probably have that plugged into the correct port, but never hurts to check everything.)
Have you looked at the port on the Vonage adapter and checked for bent/cross wires within the plug? It happens sometimes.
Can you get to the Internet on a computer connected to the WRTP54G?
