Have a feeling that Vonage is just sending the same bad Linksys units out just to pacify the customer complaints. This is why I haven't even bothered for a replacement unit. I'm more suprised at Linksys/Cisco Corporation than Vonage Company for these apparantly faulty units. I thought Linksys/Cisco would have put more testing and quality control checks into their products, being the world leader in networking and everything. You can find very little info as far as support for their Voip products at their Linksys website. I have a sneaky suspicion Vonage put out several bids to different companies to provide hardware for Voip, and the first bid for a good product wins the big contract. It sounds to me like Linksys/Cisco just cranked out the first prototype, tested it in a lab probably without a "real world" enviroment. Then mass-produced thousands of these units for Vonage. Of course I could be just paranoid..but it sounds good. :eek:
BTW is there any body out there that has two phone numbers on any Linksys ATA that can tell us how their quality is. I would anticipate if one number is in use you would have the noise..but if you had two simultaneous calls, the noise wouldn't be there because of the load (controlled short) on both ports.

I'm on my third Linksys box because of the white noise issue. I chose the best one

I tried several phones and each of them put out around 71k Worth of resistances
And BTW reebus this kills all the noise :)
Just crimped on a RJ-11 with pins 3 and 4 shorted and ALL noise is now gone. Hopefully

Yes, in port 2. I do not see how it can possibly mess anything up. Its just a simple
Just make sure you don't short out any of the RJ-45 ports!
