I'm seeking advice whether it's feasible to pursue a LNP from a major wireless carrier to Vonage and then back again to the same wireless carrier. Here's the hitch...
My fiancee has been on her mom's Verizon Wireless family plan for years. We'll be getting married soon. I recently joined Verizon Wireless for this very reason. She wishes to remain with Verizon Wireless so that she can take advantage of In-Network calling with her mom (understandable). I, of course, want to leverage the same when calling her.
Anyhow, she (by name) is not identified in any way in her mom's service plan. She wants to keep her old number, and the only way Verizon will do this is give her a new contact and perform an upgrade (her mom is no longer under any present contractual obligation with the phone). While the activation fees are waived, the phone deals they are offering for a separate plan and upgrade just aren't attractive.
Sooo... Comes in the idea of a LNP out of Verizon Wireless into a new Vonage Line and then LNP back to Verizon. My fiancee's number is not the primary, but secondary number. The Vonage service is in my name, not my future mother-in-law's.
Question: Is there a chance in hell to get a LOA (or more appropriately eLOA) approved from Verizon Wireless (in the mother in law's name) to my Vonage service (in my name) and then back to Verizon Wireless (in my fiancee's name-individual plan)?
A long shot, but dollar for dollar with a 1-year wireless contract (the only contracts worth committing to IMHO) there's a significant savings.
Of course, this entire point would be moot should she no longer wish to keep her old number... Sigh.. The things we do for love.
