From the UTStarcom WiFi Phone user forum:

There are two different versions of F1000 for Vonage. One of these is the version sold through Vonage directly. There are no visible config setting for that version. All configuration is done by Vonage from their servers.

If you want to use an "open/unlocked" F1000 with Vonage service, you can do so using a Vonage soft phone account, not their standard account. The soft phone account would be added to your normal account.

Once you sign up for a soft phone account from Vonage, you will get a SIP User name and SIP password (different fro your admin login password for their web interface). Too put that into the phone:

Press Menu -> WiFi Settings -> Signal Protocol -> SIP

Go through the items on that menu one at a time (from the top):

SIP Register Server Mode = DNS (not IP)

SIP Register Server Domain = sphone.vopr.vonage.net

SIP Register Server IP Address = 0.0.0.0 (not used if DNS)

SIP Register Server Port = 5061

SIP Outbound Proxy = DNS (not IP)

SIP Outbound Server Domain = sphone.vopr.vonage.net

SIP Outbound Server IP Address = 0.0.0.0 (not used if DNS)

SIP Outbound Server Port = 5061

SIP User Name = This is your 11 digit phone number (including the 1 at the beginning plus the rest of the 10 digit US number including area code)

SIP Authentication String = Same as SIP user name

SIP Password = Your softphone SIP password - a combination of 10 random letters, numbers and symbols that you get as your soft phone SIP password

To administer the SIP Password in the F1000, you need to enter the security code for the phone (default is 888888)

Note that with the open/standard F1000 phone, some Vonage features - such as message waiting - will not work properly as these are implemented in a unique way by Vonage and that method is only supported on Vonage offered phones.
