I know this issue has been discussed umpteen times here on this forum but I could not find any definite resolution.

Here is my problem.

I had the RTP31P2 Router/Adapter that started to act up flaky. I used to get one-way audio for 10-12 secs and during this period it would block all downstream traffic. Vonage agreed to replace it (after it was isolated that it was their problem and not the ISPs)and I got the new WRTP54G wireless device with firmware version 1.00.60. This resolved my original problem of momentary network flaps. So far so good. However, in doing this conversion I have lost my Caller ID for incoming calls. I do not get Caller ID, either number or name when I connect the WRTP54G directly into the wall (home wiring). The caller-id works just fine if I connect the phone directly to the WRTP54G! So I guess, the caller id is getting processed (I can see it even in the router Status log) but not getting transmitted via home wiring. I have tried disconnecting all phones and then putting one by one to test of something was overloading the circuit. Alas, no success. Seems, the home-wiring adds impedance to the phone port that the firmware is not able to handle. Curiously, the caller-id works just fine, through home wiring, during the call-waiting scenario. But you would agree, that it is most important is to have caller id work when the phone actually "rings' the first time.

Originally, the caller id, used to work fine with my non-wireless device (RTP31P2) through home wiring. I have now spent countless hours with Vonage on it without success. I will appreciate any ideas or suggestions. Is this a wide spread issue? Does anyone know wHen is the newer firmware expected for WRTP54G?
