First things first. I hate Vonage. I was their most staunch supporter 2 1/2 years ago when I signed up. I even convinced friends and relatives to switch to Vonage. And I scored free service for doing so.
I have the faulty router/firmware in question, and have spoken with tech support at length about this issue. They're useless. Their supervisors are useless. I am cancelling my service as soon as Clearwire makes Voip available in my area (Dayton, OH). I have tried every trick suggested by you all and none of it works. I do appreciate all the time and effort you guys have expended in trying to help other Vonage users, but the bottom line is that we are using an inferior product supported by imbeciles. And here is the good news (insert sarcasm here)...they won't refund me my money for the time my router has been infected with their defective firmware. Yes, you heard me. They won't refund me the money I have paid. They're thieves. Criminals. If I knew anything about building a website ( I don't...) I would build a website called www.IHateVonage.com . Feel free to steal that from me. I hereby give you all permission. I claim no copyright. As long as one of you can properly relay the hate, anger, pain, and anguish I have for Vonage on the website, it's all yours.
Happy VoIP'ing. I will now begin my new campaign to tell everyone I can how terrible Vonage is. Hopefully, within a year or two, they'll be out of business and I can go back to leading a normal life. Sorry if I end up inconveniencing any of you. You're all great people. But the world needs to be rid of vile, corrupt companies such as Vonage. You'll be OK. I promise that once I wipe them off the face of the Earth, others will pop up in their place. It's a capitalist market. Competition rules. The weak will die and the strong will survive. It's just a shame we had to deal with Vonage in the meantime.
Now I just have to decide which of the four horsemen I want to call myself.....
