Do a search on connecting wrt54g and rt31p2, most people have better luck having their wrt54g hooked directly to the cable modem and then the rt31p2 hooked to the wrt54g. Try the procedure I have outlined above and see if that works. If you are having a problem trying to coonect to your rt31p2 to manage it, then you need to unplug it, hold down the reset button in the back with a pen and plug it back in while still holding down the button for about 30 seconds. This will reset the rt to default. You should then be able to http to 192.168.15.1 to manage the rt.
