Thats my setup..Ive connected the dsl output to the wireless router's internet port and from the LAN port1 to computer and LAN 2 to ATA..but i was not able to connect to internet..but when i conect the dsl output to Routers LAN port i was to connect to internet;
the various setting i've used:
IP properties of the Ethernet card set as follows:
192.168.1.2
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1
HUAWEI (DSL modem) configured as :
WAN Setting
PVC Number PVC 0
Wan Type PPP
Connection Type PPPoE
VPI/VCI 0 / 35
Default Route - Enabled
User Name <ISP UserName>
Password < ISP Password>
Use DNS Enabled
Max Idle Time Always On
Lan Settings(Advanced node)
IP Address 192.168.1.90
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0(/24)
Local Domain Name Blank
Opened the Network properties of the Ethernet card and changed the IP properties as
IP Address 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.1.90
Preferred DNS server 61.1.96.69 (BSNL DNS Server IP)
Alternate DNS server 61.1.96.71 (BSNL DNS Server IP)
Configuring the Wireless Router and enabling the WPA security
Connecting the network cable from the NetGear wireless router to the machine In IP Properties of the Network card Enable DHCP and made the following on the IP properites dialog.
Obtain IP Address Automatically
Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically
Wireless Settings link
Wireless Network
Name (SSID) - <My SSID>
Region Asia
Channel 11
Mode g and b
Security Options
WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)
