Vonage Dan, First of all, I'm not trying to prolong nor rekindle the debate/discussion

Dan,

First of all, I'm not trying to prolong nor rekindle the debate/discussion that was going on here in this thread. I won't even refer to the subject matter discussed.

I actually thought that the posts in this thread were remarkably civil, considering the obvious significant differences of opinion.

There did not appear to be any "...Claims of action, flames, and calls to action against any company or person...". Nor were there any "Posts that appear to support or promote the violation of any part of the Vonage TOS...". Additionally, I saw no evidence of name-calling, offensive or vulgar language, ethnic, racial, gender-based, or faith/religion slurs or any of the other "No-no's" that are commonly disallowed in user or support forums across the Internet.

In other words, I didn't see any Forum Rules infractions in the posts of this thread, with the single exception that one long-time user posted an "off-topic" message that appeared to have no purpose relevant to the topic at hand. It appeared to be posted simply to to berate another shorter-term member because of a response to yet a different poster - one who claims to be a Vonage Technical Representative, offering potentially "technical" advice - because they resented, or disliked the "tone" of the other poster's response. I thought the "newbie's" comment was actually on-topic and relevant - regardless whether it was worded in a polite fashion or not. It cetainly did not appear (to me, at least) to be an attacking or "flame" post.

Actually, I 'm not certain which post you feel contained the referenced "personal comments", with the exception of the off-topic remark.

All other posts were certainly on-topic and reflected the subject presented in the thread's title.

What exactly are the rules that govern such posts?

I ask only because I moderate over a dozen technical forums online, and administer two others of my own. I am curious as to why you felt the need to issue your ersatz "Cease and desist" order?

Of course you may be aware of some previous discord among the members involved, or relationship issues of which I am unaware.

Or it may just be "Because you can"! (I won't argue that point!)

As far as I can tell, the only thing that was ultimately accomplished was that poor user hakujin is still without an answer to his question. And it would appear that he will remain that way, as methinks that no one is willing to try again - at least not in this thread!

Thanks for, hopefully, any advice you can offer!
