The Wi-Fi phone is stand alone, it will have it's own MAC ID that will be in the Voip providers inventory. It will use any wireless access point it can authenticate to. I hope this information helped you.

It would work if you do the softphone but you don't ANY choices for any good plans. The only option is the softphone method and you pay more for the phone cause Vonage hasn't released it. Vonage talks like it has been working and out. Which if it was working so well why hasn't it been released.

I sure hope they don't come out with the first relase of that phone cause there was an updated version as well. Also another WiFi phone has been released more of a clam shell phone. So in thier year of testing one phone the compnay not only updated the first phone but now have totally released a color screen clam shell phone as well. For the $79 I bet that is the first edition of the phone as well after all that one would be a waste the second edition of that phone enables you to accept the agreements that some hotspots make you view. Now with the clam shell and color what good is the orginal f1000?

After all if anyone wants a bag cell phone I am sure I can find you one :)
