I'm confused by your first statement:



You say that once the lights are solid it's fine.. does the router just reboot on it's own while you are using the internet? If so that's not right... and I'd ask for a new one. Are you sure you mean the Vonage box and not the cable modem? Just need some clarification here.




Interesting.. suscom just rolled out 768 up / 5 meg down residential plan. You shouldn't be having any issues.. go to http://speedtest.suscom.net and see what speed that gives you.. then run the http://www.vonage-forum.com/voip-speed-test.html bandwidth test here and see how your Voip checks out... if there is a WILDLY different number from the two tests (ie the Voip test is slower then the speedtest) then suscom is having a backhaul issue... let me know what the result is. When you lose the connection to the internet... does it just vanish? Does the cable modem reset? What happens? If the person can not here you ther eis an upload issue or latency issue... are you running any p2p software? Have you tried it on a "quiet connection" ie... not running anything or even with the computer off?

This sounds like a transmission issue.. if I remember correctly, the touchtones on Voip are sent on a sub-carrier frequency or on a different connection all togethor and then regenerated on the other end... so again this leads me to believe data loss.




It SHOULD work fine on high, but maybe try setting it down. I know for a fact the network administrator at SusCom uses Vonage (I referred him) and he loves it.. so it DOES work on SusCom... which part of Southern, PA are you in (trying to get an idea of which cable segment).

Respond back and I'll try to help you a bit more.
