Cargo Jack:
Your Vonage telephone number is "mapped" to the MAC address (unique internal # of network devices) of your Voip phone adapter. The Vonage tech told me it is possible to have two MAC addresses (adapter and WiFi phone) mapped to the same telephone number, BUT they cannot be active on the Vonage network at the same time. If an incoming call needs to be routed to your telephone and both devices are active on the network, the call will either be dropped or routed randomly to one of the devices. He told me that the WiFi phone can have the same number, but the hardwired adapter MUST be disconnected from the network for it to work properly. Unless you get two lines or settle for a single device (WiFi phone), the WiFi phone has little value.

Until Vonage offers a reasonable solution, I will continue to use my hardwired adapter with a 5.8GHz multi handset phone system and forwarding my Vonage calls to my GSM wireless phone after 20 seconds.
