Been a user now for 9 months now. I'd give Vonage 4 out of 5. We will save $600 a year over SBC. The service has been excellent. I have not had any of the CID issues that others have had. VM has been steady. I like the web interface. The one time I had to deal with CS was on my second number transfer. It took nearly three months and it was because of something I screwed up, not Vonage. The rep was more than helpful and pushed through the transfer. I've discovered that running an upload/download and attempting to use the phone - not good. I only have the PAP2 so I can't quite dial in the QoS like some of the other models can. So I just do the up/downloads at night when we are sleeping.
The only thing that prevents my rating from being 5 out of 5 is the E911 issues. I know Vonage is working on it but I don't expect it to be fully operational for sometime. Let's face it, the traditional phone companies that control the lines we need to use to connect to 911 don't want to play because they are afraid of getting their asses handed to them over companies like Vonage. More and more people are switching because they are tired of paying too much money for what some see as a basic service.
Overall - happy we made the move. I've got our office moved over to Vonage. My parents will be moving over in the next month and my in-laws are considering it as well. Plus I have side clients that are now all asking about it and I am openly telling them about Vonage, both the good and the potential bad about it.
