I have been having intermittent problems for the past month or so. I signed up in November and had no issues until my number got ported over. Then they began. I have been having choppy / garbled calls. Most of the time not bad, but very noticeable. syllables are missing from words not to the point where it cannot be understood, but enough to be very annoying. Some days / times are much worse than others. (95% of the time the party I am calling says I sound fine, it is only what I hear that is the problem). There is also often times hiss or white noise in the background when no one talks - but mostly on outbound calls only).

Here is the weird part; when I called Vonage tech support, that sounds perfect. The hold music was clear, no drop outs, no hiss, no crackle, no garble, etc. But when the call me from an outside line or I call them back at a 1-732 number, the crackle, choppy, etc comes back.

I have an open ticket with them, but have not heard anything yet, (It is from Tuesday). I called today and they say they are still analyzing the data.
They mentioned that the calls to Vonage are in network, so the don’t go outside. But, my Dad has Vonage too, and I get the garble when I call him, so that is an in network call, so I don’t know what is going on.
I called a friend who has Optimum Voice from Cablevision, he sounded fine. No garble.
Any ideas?
Below are the test my Voip results.
Thanks

You're getting mixed results on your voip test, and the second set has sufficient
Disconnect your vt1005=>No routers==>5120>computer. Run testyourvoip
I redid the test twice, pc plugged directly into modem. What I don't understand
Since you only had the modem connected to the pc and you had intermittent burst
Frequency 603000000 Hz Signal to Noise Ratio 39 dB QAM 64 Network Access
Try turning off the radio of the wireless on the BEFW11S4. And separate the routers
Just for fun, I wanted to check my modem signals against yours, as I also have a 5120.
it may very well be, but +12 is within the recommended range for docsis 2.0. the
Higher order QAM can deliver more data less reliably than lower-order QAM. So
