Are you sure that they are actually reversed, or are you confused the way I was at one point? On my RTP300, the lights are on the front. The light for phone 1 is on the left and for phone 2 is on the right, as you would expect (reading left to right). By the same token, the actual ports are on the back. Looking at the back of the unit, port 1 is on the left and 2 is on the right, again as you would expect.
However, looking down on the top of the unit, this puts phone port 1 immediately behind light 2, and phone port 2 immediately behind light 1. Is this mis-labelling? It's all a matter of perception.
Getting back to a more important issue for WayneW, you should be aware that during the porting process, calls to your old number will continue to ring your old phone if the calls come from non-Vonage customers. However, calls from other Vonage customers to your old number will ring your Vonage phone. This is normal with Vonage porting, but it means that you should keep a phone plugged in to the Vonage adapter to receive calls from other Vonage customers.
After the porting is complete, all calls to your ported number will ring the Vonage phone. The temporary number will disappear automatically.
