Another option, if one of the items plugged into the Belkin is a PC with modest internet usage requirements, would be to plug that PC into the RT31P2 and plug the new adapter into the port the PC vacated.

Yes, it would put it on another sub-net and it wouldn't be able to talk to your other
I know a little about networking (enough to set up my own) but I'd rather not take
All you would need to do to avoid the subnet problem is to go into the RT31P2 configuration
