Another newbie here...I've followed all the Linksys and Vonage directions for installing this router/adapter (Linksys RT31P2).

It powers up nicely. Power light is solid. Ethernet 1 light is solid and Internet light is on and blinking rapidly just as fast as my Motorola Surfboard Modem is blinking with activity as well, and I can surf the Internet and use email with no problems at all with everything linked together.

HOWEVER, I get no dial tone and have never gotten a dial tone and BOTH phone lights are blinking in unison...NOT the POWER light. This happens whether I reboot and/or reset this router as well as the modem, pc, unplug everything, etc. I get both phone lights blinking whether I have one phone cord plugged in, two phone cords plugged in or no phone cords plugged in.

I've searched all the documentation I could find on Vonage, Linksys and through these forums and cannot find any reference to an instance where both phone lights are blinking at the same time.

If it is important to know, both lights blink 2 or 3 quick times then blink two slightly elongated times and then 2 or 3 more quick times followed by a pause of about 1 second and then the pattern resumes.

I've been online to the Linksys setup site for the router and it communicates with the router just fine.

I've followed the directions for rebooting and resetting this several times and have held the reset button in just over 15 seconds as I've seen prescribed in the forums.

I've sent numerous emails to Vonage support but only received one automated reply telling me to try all the things I had already tried numerous times. Since then I haven't gotten any further response from my daily emails.

Vonage has just taken my 2nd month's billing automatically and I have yet to make or receive one call or to get any meaningful assistance in solving this problem. I'd sure love to get this up and running and now that I'm $75 into it with nothing to show for it, I'm hoping I haven't made a terrible mistake by sinking money into a non-existent product...at least, non-existent for me.

I reside in Mexico and I can't afford to call Vonage from here...that's why I acquired the Vonage service! I've sent Vonage my landline phone number here and when I can be reached, as a fellow Vonage user here in Mexico has told me that they did afford him that service in the past when he first got started with Vonage. BTW, I know a different Vonage user here in Mexico (we're both in Cuernavaca) who is using the same ISP and has the same speed connection that I have and he is able to use his Vonage account (older Motorola adapter) with no problems, in case you're wondering about the port being blocked as with others in Mexico...my ISP here is Cablered/Cablemas.
