Nice of you to help out. I have a good one for you. This is long.
I have been trying to port my landline number to Vonage for over 2 years. I have been hot and heavy for the last couple of months. Vonage of course tells me they have no acess to my number or some such. I figured it was my local telephone supplier giving them the run around. They are a mom and pop operation. I called the Alabama public service commission to complain. They informed me that I could indeed port my number to Vonage, and that Vonage was on the list of providers that I could use. Great I thought. I then received a call from Otelco stating they had received a message from the Service Commission about my complaint. Otelco informed me that as much as they would hate to loose me, I could indeed port my number to Vonage. Well, I was in Heaven. I called Vonage and gave them the good news. Guess what, Yep, Vonage said they could not port my number. All I need is the form from Vonage that I need to send to Otelco. I convinced a Vonage Rep to send it to me, but He didn't do it. I am sure they have regulations to go by. So I guess I am on hold for now. Does this sound right? I know Vonage need all the customers it can get.
