For whatever reason, there might have been a change in the configuration. In order for you to share files with each other, a number of items must be in order.
1. All computers must have the same workgroup name but different computer names. Here is what it says on the microsoft website:
To change the name of a computer, to join a domain, and to add a computer description, use the Computer Name tab in the System Properties dialog box.
To locate this tab, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
How to add a computer description
Type a name or a description in the Computer description box on the Computer Name tab, and then click Apply to add a computer description.
Double check on both the computers that they have the same workgroup name but different computer names.
2. All the folders and files that are to be shared must be configured as a shared folder. (A shared folder will have a hand underneath the folder icon; please double check that the folders you want to share has the hand under it).
3. You should be able to go to "My Network Places" and "see" the other computers on your workgroup. You can go the My Network Place when you open up the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. It should appear as a link on the left side.
For whatever reason, one or more of the above conditions have been changed. Please double check the above 3 conditions.
