Alright, after months of troubleshooting and holding onto my technical pride by not asking for help, I am finally at my wits end.

For at least 4-5 months now I have had Vonage in my home with the setup as follows: My own Linksys BEFCMU10 ver2 -> RT31P2 -> 2 other computers and a Uniden TRU8888 Expandable cordless phone.

The problem i have been having is this: I use VPN at my home just fine. and have the QoS set to 512 (but at one point it was set to 384). Several times a day while using VPN working from home, the cable modem will not disconnect or reset, but literally crash, leaving me no other option but to actually unplug and reset the cable modem in order to regain my internet connection. I cannot time it, but it happens so often I can bet that it will happen within a period of time. I have noticed over my months of troubleshooting that it seems to get messed when throughput must become saturated and for some reason, cannot handle it and crashes. I returned ComCast's cable modem to try to fix this as this also happened with their modem. I too have the promo of 8Mb/768Mb transfer. Had the RT31P2 replaced to fix this. Removed the stack of the 2 devices because I noticed that the generated heat may have been an issue. I have literally run out of options.

Anything you guys/gals may be able to suggest would be great because it happens to me, but it really isn't me that I am concerned with as my wife works from home and she is at wits end calling me everytime it goes down. I cannot tell you how many times I have called both Vonagte AND Comcast to try to resolve this. I have not experienced the super long wait periods you have experienced when calling Vonage, however I do have a huge issue with their understanding and their textbook reading solutions. But then hey, Clinton :oops: signed the bill to extend the reach of outsourcing and Bush :twisted: was re-elected...yAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!
