Vonage All, I've been reading over these forums for several days now and have answered

All, I've been reading over these forums for several days now and have answered many of my questions but still have some issues with my Vonage service. First question: 1. I have 2 Vonage Linksys RT31P2 routers (One for home use and the other for business use) and a Linksys BEFVP41 router ( I have multiple computers on my network) and a Motorola 5120 Surfboard. The way I have this set up right now is from my modem to the RT31P2 (#1) this router has the WAN input for NET access. Output on port one of this router feeds the RT31P2 (#2) WAN input (Not sure why this has to be set up like this, but the phone wouldn't connect with just a port to port connection), and Port 2 from the RT31P2 (#1) feeds Port 1 on the RT31P2 (#2) (No net access for computers on this router w/o this connection). Then I have Port 3 from the RT31P2 running to Port1 on the BEFVP41 router. I've tried multiple set up's including trying to use corssover cables but this set up seems to work the best. Now that I've established my setup (Please comment if there is a more efficient way to set this up please). I will move on to the performance issues I'm having with my Vonage service. 2. I consistently get the "One way conversation" muted on one end, the receiving end of my conversations. I'd say 1 out of 3 calls at some point in the call the person on the other end will not be able to hear me or it is chopping so bad the audio in incomprehensible. Here are my results from the VOIP test from this page: My Results Download 4,228,112 bps Upload 358,176 bps QOS 98% RTT 228 ms MaxPause 60 ms Now, from what I've read these results aren't too bad and are suppose to be able to support up to 4 lines. I only have 3 lines connected to my network and they are never in use at the same time. I've tried multiple suggestions from this forum to try to fix this problem but have yet to resolve it. I'm hesitant to call customer support back as their solution is always reset the modem and check your bandwidth. 3. Faxing. I realize this is a whole different animal but figured I'd give it a shot here. I have a dedicated FAX line from Vonage for our business (not sure why I have to pay $9.99 for a dedicated one when it seems a regular $4.99 virtual line is working for people on this forum) which rarely seems to receive a complete FAX. Most of our business is done via FAX, so this is a big deal. I will get about 10 pages into a 20 page fax or so and it will disconnect whether I'm receiving or sending. Each time my fax gives the same error, "Poor Line Quality". I've tried hooking a DSL filter to the line (As recommended in this forum) and I've tried dialing *99 (though this doesn't help for receiving) neither of which seems to help at all. The FAX machine and business line are connected to the RT31P2 (#2) so they are not hooked directly into the modem. Am I just holding on to false hopes hoping that I will get this thing to FAX reliably? Not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm utilizing a Brother MFC-9700 fax machine for the business. Those are the two issues I'm having with Vonage service at the moment. Actually I've been having the poor quality for awhile now and just recently switched the business over (which I hope I don't end up regretting). Anyhow, any insight any of you could provide would be greatly appreciated and I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

It looks like your problems are caused by a jittery, lossy upstream on the cable
