Ahh, DSL. Yes, a little different. Note that when you did that hard reset, it probably wiped out the DSL authentication within the router. :eek:

First make sure you know what type of connection your DSL provider is using. Static IP? PPPoE? Something else? Do you remember ever logging into your RTP300 router and changing any settings?

1. Connect everything up as normal. DSL modem to RTP300 to computer.
2. Make sure your computer is set on DHCP (Obtain an IP automatically). It probably is since you're able to log into the router and ping it. That's a good sign, that your DSL provider is either on PPPoE or even bridged to use DHCP (which is probably not the case since it didn't work when you tried it). DHCP is setting it up like my above post.
3. Open an internet browser and type 192.168.15.1 into the address bar. Username/password is "admin"/"admin". Once you log in, the first screen you encounter is the setup screen.
4. If your DSL service requires a PPPoE authentication with a username and password, drop down the little menu where it currently says "Obtain and IP automatically" and choose "PPPoE". The screen changes a little. Enter the username/password provided by your DSL provider. If you don't know it, you will have to call them up.
5. If your DSL provider has a static IP (which I doubt in your case). Hell, who is your provider? I might know. If it is static, choose static from the drop down menu and put in the IP addresses as the DSL provider provided you with.
6. Click on save settings on the bottom. It may ask you to reboot. Click yes if it does.
7. Check status on the router and see if you get an IP address. Check to see if it shows "Connected." If it does, then you're good to go. If not, try a power cycle. Unplug the power from both modem and RTP300. Power on modem, wait. Power on RTP300. Does it show connected? If it still doesn't work, you A) have the wrong username/password B) have a bad RTP300 or C) your ISP is down.
