Agreed, stay away from the IP/wifi integrated phones, like the VTech IP8100-1, WiFi UTStarcom F1000, or Uniden UIP1869V.

Get a solid phone adapter like the dlink VTA, Linksys PAP2 or the new motorola VT2142 or 2442. Then plug in your favourite cordless or regular phone. If you need to connect multiple phones you can wire your house, or just get a 2-in-1 or 3-in1 phone plug to connect to your phone adapter which splits the one jack into 2 or 3 respectively. I use a 2-in-1, and have one desk phone and one cordless (well the cordless has two handsets, but only uses one jack).
