Agreed, but I'd call it a "wireless client router" or "wireless repeater" rather than simply a "wireless access point", which I think is really what he's connecting to in the first place. I'd still like to see his ICS work out under XP so we'd all know it could be used in an emergency. I myself could have used it not long ago when I fried my router's power supply overseas (wish every router came with a proper 110/220 V power supply). For the wireless-client/wired-router, I've made this work with a WRT54G v2 (now WRT54GL) running Sveasoft firmware, which allows it to act as a wireless client at the same time as local router (I used "client-routed" mode, but "repeater" mode might work too). Back to the original problem, I've actually made that work using ICS, but only under W2K rather than XP. In my case, the only "trick" needed under W2K was that the WRTP54G (in my case a -NA) needed a static IP address (at the same time, I also gave it the main AP's IP as a DNS and gateway addy for good measure as working with the PC's hosts file is a pain). Call quality was excellent despite the fact that the PC was an ancient 300 MHz Celeron, but at least it had a clean install of W2Ksp4. I also used a Vonage PAP2 through that same ICS connection (PAP2-VD -> WRTP54G-NA -> Sveasoft WRT54GL ~~~> wireless AP/Gateway -> Internet). EDIT: In my experience with W2K, a crossover cable IS REQUIRED on the connection from the device's WAN to the ICS PC's LAN.
