Vonage After searching through multiple previous threads and trying every suggestion



After searching through multiple previous threads and trying every suggestion mentioned, I am in need to start a new thread about my inability to receive incoming calls.

My set up is a Teryan cable modem into a netgear wireless router and then a linksys PAP2 into the router. I then have my phone plugged into "Line 1" of the linksys adaptor.

I signed up for service two days ago.

I am able to place calls fine, and I actually got a compliment today about how great the quality is. I tested my cable modem up and downstream tests and they both have far exceeded the average for cable speeds in my area.

However, whenever anyone tries to call me, including myself from my cell phone, they get a fast busy signal. I currently have voicemail disabled because i would like to use my own answering machine rather than deal with the voicemail.

I have tried unplugging and plugging things back in multiple times in different sequences with no luck. I have a feeling that my PAP2 is not registering properly with Vonages servers, causing an issue mapping my phone number with my Vonage adaptor, and thus no incoming calls are coming through. I may be far off, since i really have little idea how the whole Vonage system works.

I have tried calling Vonage tech support multiple times with either a long hold or no solution but to unplug and plug back in.

I find this site a valuable resource, and I am quite happy with my outgoing call quality, but if I cannot receive incoming calls I will be taking the adaptor back to the purchase location right away and getting a refund.

If anyone can offer me any advice as to what to try to get incoming calls to come thru it would be much appreciated.
