Vonage After nearly 2 years of unbearable service interruptions, I've decided to call



After nearly 2 years of unbearable service interruptions, I've decided to call it quits with Vonage Canada. Like many other poor souls, I too was suckered into getting the D-Link VWR. The performance on that piece of crap is horribly awful. The tech. support rep @ Vonage Canada advised me he'd send me a replacement free of charge but I'd be obligated to stay with Vonage Canada for another year or I'd face the dreaded $49.99 disconnection fee. With the D-Link VWR, I was in a 2 year period where I'd face the $49.99 disconnection fee, and I'm just a month shy of that 2 year mark but I cannot deal with the lack of phone service anymore. I'm going to have to cancel 1 month before the 2 year mark is up, which means I'll end up paying that $49.99. As I'm typing this, I just hooked up my Primus TalkBroadBand VOIP service. I just have to wait for Primus to port my phone number from Vonage to Primus before I can cancel. Anyways long story short, the service wasn't all that bad (when it worked), but it's just not reliable. I'm a former Primus customer, and they also allow you to pay via online banking (therefore no interest charges on your credit card). It's been real Vonage.
