Actually they are, if you are using your softphone in addition to a phone adapter. If you only use softphone then the V-Phone may be a solution for you. But once you add multiple adapters, then that means extra charges for Vonage.

A company must at least make a profit to stay in business. Most Voip services, Vonage included, do not seem to be pushing the upper end to pull more than a stay in business situation. Want greedy? Try the old regulated POTS systems.

I'm not sure you'll find one. If you find something that is similar you will be missing something, I'm sure. But, I'll be watching for you to check back in. It will be interesting.
