A friend of my brother's had Cable Internet, and he decided to move his modem, but did not move the dedicated modem cable line, when he tried tp lug in a TV to the modem line it would not work, however the modem would work in the rest of the house.. like said above, I think it may be to block the Video feed for TV's.. now I dont' know if they ever opened the outside box to look for any blockers on the line, but I know a TV would not work on teh modem line..
