230ms is an awfully big number! I am on standard Shaw with the Motorola modem in Kelowna. My route to the same IP is Kelowna, Vancouver, Seattle and on to Vonage NJ so my route is the same as yours and even a bit longer. I NEVER get 230ms. The most I get is about 120ms.

So seeing as how you are also on Shaw, I doubt it is Shaw and the enhanced package will not likely change your ping times. It might be your internal network (like the Dlink) or the wiring to your house. Phone Shaw support and ask them to look at your modems signal strength. They can do it remotely right then and there.

Get a Linksys WRT54GL. You won't be sorry!
