1. Your location -> Metro Atlanta -> Gwinnett County, GA
2. Your ISP name and type (cable, DSL, wireless etc) -> Comcast was Adelphia

4. Modem make and model - > RCA Modem (Can't find the Model) type

5. Type of Vonage adapter used ie -> PAP2
6. Setup of Network ie RCA Modem->Netgear RangeMax NEXT Wireless Router Gigabit Editionr -> Vonage Adapter (PAP2) ->NETGEAR GS108 ->PC
7. Issue you are experiencing:

Just out of the Blue the Vonage PAP2 adapter looses connectivity to the Netgear Router aka instead of the three green lights confirming connectivity I have the one green light is flashing which mean no connection. If you pick up the phone you get the voice message the the "Vontage adapter has lost connection to the host." This problem could happen once a week, but most of the time it happens two to three times within a 48 hour period before things calm down. Since I have to reboot the modem, router and pap2 it gets to be a real pain in the neck. I have read all kinds of different comments, but to this day have not found a correct fix for my situation. Is the problem Comcast, Netgear, Vonage???? The only thing that I can determine just based on what I can see is that the Router may flake out for some reason and the DHCP handed out IP between the PAP2 and the Router goes away and the PAP2 can't get its IP back. Or because of the issues posted on the different forums about Comcast and their wonderful Network shaping they do that it takes away the QOS from the PAP2. Which leads me to my only other question. I have tried to find a way to get my NetGear Router to allow me to give priority to my Vonage adapter. I have checked all kinds of forums and haven't found any way to make this happen. Any suggestions??? Sorry for the long post, but this issue has been going on for 6 months plus and Comcast and Netgear blame the other,Vonage just does not have an answer either. I really don't blame Vonage, I just want to fix the reboot issue. Thanks.

KLG

Netgear RangeMax NEXT Wireless Router Gigabit Dropping PAP2

Your post shows only 1 PC in the network, thought the 10 port switch and wireless
I don't believe that the netgear has any options for QOS, or the ability to set priority
Clarification: The Netgear DS108 Gig Switch is connected to one of the 4 gig
This issue is resolved. The NetGear N Series has gone Tago Uniform. I have replaced
