For years I had no problems with my Vonage adaptor being ahead of my Netgear wireless router. Then beginning Nov 16 I began losing connectivity off & on randomly. So I contacted Brighthouse and they said to trade in my Toshiba cable modem for the Webstar.

Intermittent connectivity loss problem continued. So I talked to BH tech support. I was told that the problem was the firewall in the adaptor and that I should contact Linksys since it was probably theirs. So I contacted Linksys and they told me the problem was too complicated for them to resolve. (rolling eyes)

So I moved the Netgear ahead of the Motorola and I have less loss of internet but still some.

I'm LOST! I liked having the Vonage adaptor ahead of the router because Vonage is my only phone line (I cut the cord to Verizon last year).

Let me add that when the Vonage adaptor was first in line I still had my phone working when the rest of my network could not access the internet. As the BH tech said, apparently I have too many firewalls. What should I do?
