7. The cable modem and the Phone adapter were recently replaced due to an electrical storm that appears to have taken both offline. Since the replacement, the internet and the Voip work great. The problem is I seem to lose my internet connection at least once per day; this usually occurs when the PC goes into standby for a while. When I wake the PC back up and try to access the internet, it is unable to connect to anything. I have tried resetting the cable modem and the phone adapter but to no avail. I am able to ping the adapter (192.168.15.1) and I still have phone service - just no internet. The only thing I've found that works is completely rebooting the PC. Then everything works just great - until the next time.

Can anyone shed some light on what is causing this to happen and if there's anything I can do to prevent it in the future?
