Vocalocity Launches New Mobile, Desktop and Productivity Plugins

Vonage Press Releases

New Solutions to Help Businesses Increase Sales, Improve Productivity and Strengthen Customer Relationships

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Vocalocity, which was acquired last month by Vonage (NYSE:VG), today launched several new technology solutions including completely revamped mobile and desktop applications and new Salesforce.com and call history plugins. These feature-rich solutions are built to help businesses amplify their customer relationships and conduct business how they want, when they want and from wherever they'd like.

"Customers are the lifeblood of every business, and it is important that a business's phone system — the conduit to its lifeblood — is built with features that keep customer relationships going strong," said Wain Kellum, former CEO of Vocalocity and now president of Vonage Business Solutions. "Businesses no longer run on a pre-set schedule, making it more important for owners and employees to have access to their office phone system all the time, from any location."

Kellum continued, "We continuously listen to the needs and wants of our customers, and we strategically build and deliver solutions that directly address their demands and the pain points of the business industry. Our new applications and plugins are exactly what business owners and their employees need to manage their companies."

Available for iPhone® and Android™ devices, Vocalocity's mobile applications allow users to extend many of their business phone service features to their smartphones. In addition to voice service, the apps allow users to monitor call queues, read voicemail transcripts, review call history, and manage account and extension settings among other capabilities. These apps are free to mobile customers.

Vocalocity's newest desktop application extends the features of its virtual PBX to the office computer. Users can control incoming and outgoing calls and manage their extension settings, directly from their monitor. Vocalocity's desktop includes a full portfolio of customizable plugins, including one-click dialing and call monitoring for employee training. This application is also free to Vocalocity customers.

Vocalocity's call history plugin provides a screen pop-up that shows call history information every time a customer calls. This puts all the pertinent details of a customer's interactions with the business right in front of users, including previous call-in dates and the time, direction, length and call results, as well as quick access to voicemail. This plugin is free to Vocalocity customers.

Designed to help businesses increase sales and improve customer service, Vocalocity's new Salesforce.com plugin, available to customers for just $2.99 per month, improves the speed and quality of information available with each call by automatically showing relevant caller information in real-time. This plugin allows users to create new contacts, leads or accounts; automate call tracking; and quickly log customer and lead interactions.

 Vonage Granted Three New Patents

Vonage Press Releases

Company Doubles Number of Patents in 2013

HOLMDEL, N.J., Dec. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Vonage Holdings Corp. (NYSE: VG), a leading provider of communication services connecting people through cloud-connected devices worldwide, today announced that it was granted three new patents in December by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

U.S. Pat. No. 8,600,364, "Systems and Methods for Terminating Telephony Communications to Mobile Telephony Devices," issued December 3, relates to a system that automatically activates a call forwarding feature based on the customer's location, enabling low-cost incoming calls on mobile phones while traveling internationally. This is Vonage's second patent relating to its international roaming solution. U.S. Pat. No. 8,571,060, covering other aspects of the solution, issued on October 29, 2013.

U.S. Pat. No. 8,605,682, "Systems and Methods for Handoff of a Mobile Telephone Call in a VoIP Environment," issued today, provides a solution for avoiding the disconnection of a voice-over-IP call when the mobile user moves between coverage areas of different wireless networks. This is Vonage's second mobile handoff patent; an earlier patent, U.S. Pat. No. 8,223,720, issued on July 17, 2012.

U.S. Pat. No. 8,606,246, "Systems and Methods for Providing Telephony Services," also issued today, enables a customer to conveniently purchase a telephone service plan through a third-party merchant such as the Apple® App Store and Google® Play, without having to enter into a separate financial transaction with the services provider itself. Vonage was previously issued another patent relating to the purchase of services plans through an app store, U.S. Pat. No. 8,401,528, issued on March 19, 2013.

"Our most recent patents showcase our innovative solutions in mobile telecommunications and reflect our ongoing focus on achieving lower costs, improved quality, and enhanced ease-of-use for our customers," said Chief Legal Officer, Kurt M. Rogers. "We are pleased with the continued strong growth in our patent portfolio. In 2013, we doubled our number of U.S. patents and nearly doubled the number of pending U.S. applications."

Vonage was granted 18 U.S. patents and filed more than 90 U.S. patent applications in 2013. The company now owns 36 U.S. patents and has more than 210 U.S. patent applications pending, along with many foreign patents and pending applications in jurisdictions worldwide.

Both Vonage and Non-Vonage Customers can Leave Messages for Santa

HOLMDEL, N.J., Dec. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The most wonderful time of year is upon us. As we approach the North Pole's busiest day, Vonage (NYSE: VG) customers will once again be able to dial 1-700-CALL-SANTA (1-700-225-5726) from a Vonage home phone or Vonage Extension® to hear a message from Kris Kringle himself. Simply visit www.vonage.com/northpole and follow the instructions.

Once the stockings are hung by the chimney with care on Christmas Eve, callers will also be able to track Santa's whereabouts as he delivers presents around the world. Launches Extensions in Canada, Allows Customers to Extend Home Calling Rates to Mobile Phones

HOLMDEL, N.J., Nov. 21, 2013 /CNW/ - Vonage (NYSE: VG) is moving its low-cost home phone calling beyond the front door by offering Canadian customers the ability to extend their home calling rates to mobile phones through its Vonage® Extensions™ (Extensions) service offering. Extensions is free to all Vonage customers in Canada. This service builds upon the company's history of providing exceptional value to customers through calling plans that allow them to call friends and family anytime, anywhere and now, in Canada, from any phone they choose.

"Extensions enables new and existing Vonage customers to call anywhere in Canada and internationally when they're away from home for no additional cost, making our home phone plans more versatile and flexible," said Barbara Goodstein, Chief Marketing Officer for Vonage. "We are excited to launch Extensions in Canada to enhance our customers' calling experience and to provide them with even greater value."

Through the Extensions service, residential Canadian customers who have unlimited1 calling plans to specific international destinations can now get unlimited1 calling to those same destinations from their mobile phones. All other per-minute calls are charged at the same rates as their home calling plan.

A free mobile Extensions app for iPhone® and Android™ is also available, and allows one-touch dialing from a user's existing mobile contact list. Using the Extensions app, Vonage customers can make high-quality calls via the Vonage network anywhere Wi-Fi is available, including areas with poor cellular coverage or when traveling overseas to avoid hefty cellular roaming fees. Calls can also be made over 3G/4G networks2.

Vonage customers can begin using this feature by adding any Canadian phone number as an extension of their service. They can do this by logging into their online account at www.vonage.ca or by downloading the Mobile Extensions app to their smartphone via iTunes® or Google Play™. A second Extensions line is available for just $4.99 per month plus tax.
